My art is an evolving exploration of texture and depth. In a world that is increasingly more digital by the day, I am consistently drawn back to the perfectly imperfect nature of layered, heavy strokes of paint and medium. The organic nature of my current work has a tactile depth that calls for the intimacy of closer inspection—it is a visual and physical response to an electronic world.
Working primarily in mixed media, I combine acrylic, ink, charcoal, and various mediums to create handcrafted works that have a strong sense of substance and place. These paintings invite a sensorial exploration of color and form, transparency and tangibility.
Through abstraction, I am able to create open-ended conversations between the work and the viewer. The textured, grounded nature of my work is meant to engage the senses and inspire connection.
